About JCArtes

JCArtes was founded in March of 2005 with the idea of forming a tradition of excellence in Language Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, and Software Engineering that would set the "standard of excellence" throughout the world.  In fact, Language Engineering is a field of study that is not widely known and involves cirriculae that Arthur and Rachel are still developing.  Language Engineering involves the study of understanding the reasoning behind syntax structures of a language and how that reasoning relates to the syntax structures in another "target language" into which you want to translate something.  In short, Language Engineering truly and thoroughly prepares someone to participate in the development of highly accurate and effective language translation software as well as setting new standards of excellence in translation and interpretation.

Arthur is a very creative person.  While working at Martinsound Recording Studios in 1989, Arthur's boss handed him his cell phone and asked him to speak with "Bill Gates".  Arthur still doesn't know for sure if it was the Bill Gates of Microsoft, but he assumes it may have been.  Anyway, the man on the cell phone introduced himself to Arthur as "Bill Gates" and proceeded to ask Arthur what features he would like to see added to Microsoft Windows 3.1.  Arthur responded, "Well, I would like to see more use made of the right mouse button.  You could make a menu appear that would have a list of everything you could do with the object you right clicked on".

Perhaps there were other people that Bill Gates talked with who mentioned similar ideas to him.  Arthur doesn't know about that.  But perhaps it was Arthur who was at least partly responsible for some of the important improvements to the "context sensitivity" of the right mouse button in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, and succeeding generations of Windows.

One of Arthur's predictions is that Windows XP Home and XP Pro will soon become "unprotectable" against virus and spyware attacks through internet connections.  His recommendation is to begin migrating to Linux, especially if you operate a business where internet access is critical.  Arthur is currently recommending Fedora Core Linux to his clients and is also working on developing his own version of Linux that is derived from Fedora Core.

When asked about his personal philosophies, you might hear Arthur mention that "Intellectual Property is an oxymoron".  He might add, "Knowledge isn't really knowledge until it is shared".  Or he might say, "Even the most original ideas are gifts from God, so He owns them, not you".
